Flamingo Field Notes

A revolutionary new product to make qualitative research better

In July 2011 Sidekick Studios finished Flamingo Field Notes, a category defining, qualitative research mobile and web application.

In April 2011, Flamingo International, Europe's largest qualitative research company, approached Sidekick Studios to help them figure out how mobile technology could be used to turbo-charge their approach to qualitative research.

The result is Flamingo Field Notes, an exclusive, always on research community that rewards respondents for their insights.

Respondents use an iPhone app that Sidekick developed to respond in real time, to research challenges set by Flamingo's research team through a web application.

Through a series of workshops with the Flamingo team, Sidekick Studios created a vision of a new mobile application which instantly uploads rich media captured by respondents to a web application for researchers to view and analyse. 

Working in an agile process Sidekick Studios spent eight weeks designing and developing the mobile and web applications. The end product has proved hugely successful for respondents, researchers and the business. 

Respondents enjoy completing briefs and find the application very easy to use. Flamingo researchers are genuinely excited about this new approach to qualitative research and are amazed at the insights the app is unlocking for their clients. Flamingo International has continued to demonstrate how it is the market leader in qualitative research. By investing in their own digital product they have reshaped the market and further secured their position at the top.
